The cruise industry is key for the development and economic appeal of the region

The Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry The Marseille Provence CCI is the world’s oldest Chamber of Commerce and is the result of a long tradition of trade and commerce in the heart of the Mediterranean. Spurred on by the ambition to enter the region in the Top 20 European Cities, the Marseille Provence CCI is interested in its attractive potential. Among its projects, the Marseille Provence CCI develops leading sectors in the region, including tourism. The Marseille Provence CCI works with its partners and businesses to maintain market share, to promote the region, to promote the launch of tourist events, to adapt the offer to new consumer trends and to the needs of tourists and to favour tourist trade. The Marseille Provence CCI wants to strengthen the competitiveness of the region’s businesses by offering them measures for quality, environmental management, training in the use of ICT, reception, marketing, industrial tourism etc. In the light of Marseille Provence as the European Capital for Culture of 2013, the Marseille Provence CCI is increasing the awareness of professionals in the whole tourist chain (businesses, cafés, hotels and restaurants and also transport, museums and services) in the quality of client hosting with the “Esprit Client” plan launched in 2009. The CCI also contributes to the development of new industry such as “tourism & cinema” and develops partnerships with ATOUT France for tourist engineering projects. Finally, the Marseille Provence CCI actively supports the projects of the Cruise Club Marseille Provence of which it has been a founder member since it was founded in 1996. This commitment to the service of the appeal and charm of our region is one of the major priorities of the mandate which aims to make Marseille Provence a Cruise Centre of excellence.
